Hypermobility

Are you more bendy than the average person?

What is hypermobility?

Hypermobility is a spectrum, where some people have conditions like EDS and others have bendy joints that still cause them pain and frustration. Hypermobility is where the joints (and sometimes other parts of the body) don’t have the support and control they should. This can lead to bendy joints, pain, injuries and can even negatively impact your activities of daily living, such as getting up off the bed. It is very different to simply being flexible, and having a physiotherapist that understands the limitations of hypermobility and how to appropriately assess and treat it, is invaluable.

Strength-based programs

We offer both in-clinic (supervised or unsupervised) and home-based programs to ensure that we find the right program to avoid flare-ups in your pain while building strength to help support your joints.

  • Home-based programs: we utilise Physitrack, which is an app that you can download for free (subscription is paid for by us) which will have images and videos of your specific exercises.

  • In-clinic supervised programs: we have group Clinical Pilates and 1:1 supervised gym sessions

  • In-clinic unsupervised programs: once cleared for safety by our Physios, you are able to use our gym or Pilates Studio independently, giving you flexibility and affordable access
